Lesson 8 of 8 from Karan Kapoor’s Surrealist's Toolkit: Creating Beautiful Prose Poems from Everyday Madness

Welcome to the final lesson of our Prose Poem workshop series! You've honed your craft, experimented with form and language, and now it's time to take the next big step: getting your prose poems published! The literary landscape is teeming with magazines eager to discover new voices and fresh perspectives, and the good news is that many of them are actively seeking the kind of innovative, boundary-pushing work that prose poets like you create.

In this lesson, I’ll introduce you to a diverse range of literary magazines—from established giants to newer, edgier platforms—each with its unique vision and submission guidelines. As the Editor-in-Chief of ONLY POEMS, I’d invite y’all to submit to us as by now you know how much I love prose poems! But here’s a more exhaustive list for ya:

$ - Poetry Is Currency | Open for submissions

United States-based literary magazine founded in 2021 that publishes Poetry.

$ rejects cultural preoccupation with financial worth. $ loves poetry’s inherent non-monetary, anti-capitalist value. $ seeks poets who write what they believe most important, regardless of economics and the market.

Fee: None | Pay: $10

Accept simultaneous submissions. Respond within 30 days.

Noteworthy: #active on socials #30-day response time #nominates for industry awards
