Find Your Bookish Soulmate
The Forever Workshop Community Corner — 4.30.25
Oh hey, beautiful workshopper.
You look like you have great taste in books.
And you probably have some really interesting thoughts about your favourite stories and authors, too.
Maybe there are some we’ve never heard of. Maybe there are some we also love.
So obviously we’d like to hear all about them. BUT this isn’t just an invitation to share book recommendations…
We figured that if YOU like a certain book/author and SOMEONE ELSE likes a certain book/author, then that might be an excellent place to start a brand new bookish friendship.
Because part of building this little community is about learning more about one another, matching vibes, and finding fellow writers to hang out with.
So let’s do some book-matching:
Find Your Bookish Soulmate!
Imagine you’re browsing in a cosy bookshop and you spot someone leafing through your absolute favourite book of all time.
You get a buzz of dopamine. You want to run over and grab them, enthusiastically tell them all about the story and recommend they buy it immediately — only to find out: omg it’s their favourite, too!
You start talking, grab a coffee, and the rest is history:
💕 Bookish Soulmates Forever 💕
Nice daydream, huh?
Well, that’s exactly what we’re gonna do in the comments of this post:
Reply below with your most beloved book(s)
Scroll through the other comments and see if you can spot another familiar fave
Say hi! Share what you love about it! Make a bookish friend!
(Bonus: You’re also sure to find a whole bunch of book recs you haven’t heard of in the process. It’s just a whole literary love-in this week. Enjoy!)
The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams is my all-time favourite. The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch is a close second.
