What's a Book That Made You Laugh Out Loud?
Share your favourites in The Forever Workshop Community Corner — 06.04.25
Hey there, writerfolk.
The month of June is off to a riotous start with the Comedy for All: How to Make Your Writing Funny workshop by Alex Baia, and holy cheeseballs we could all do with more laughs in our lives right now.
So, this week we wanna know your favourite laugh-out-loud books. Y’know, the ones that actually made you snort / cry / slap your thigh / find the nearest person and read the best bits aloud.
Because wowwww it’s harder than it looks, right? And everyone’s funny bone is positioned slightly differently.
Some of us like dark humor, others like goofball humor. Some prefer comic profanity while others guffaw at wholesome silliness. Some get their kicks with highbrow satire and some prefer good ol’ slapstick…
Whatever your humor preferences, share your funniest reads in the comments!
P.S. Here are a few of mine to start you off:
Hyperbole and a Half by Allie Brosh
The Princess Bride by William Goldman
The Martian by Andy Weir
Sophia Khan is Not Obliged by Ayisha Malik
And the Saga graphic novel series by Brian K Vaughn & Fiona Staples
Looking forward to discovering some more funny reads from you all!
Forget to mention Moby Dick! I put off reading it for years and was so pleasantly surprised by how funny it is.
Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris - one of the funniest writers ever (I was crying laughing by the end when his father eats a piece of rotted hat he found in the garage)
