Lesson 3 of 8 from Karan Kapoor’s Surrealist's Toolkit: Creating Beautiful Prose Poems from Everyday Madness

In this and the next lesson, we’ll explore various forms and structures of prose poems to help you build a diverse and compelling collection. Understanding and experimenting with different structures can deepen your craft and expand the range of your poetic expression. To ensure you have ample time to fully understand and experiment with each form, I’ve divided the exploration of prose poem structures into two lessons, with both containing a few style-based and a few form-based structures. This way, you can take your time to deeply engage with the different approaches without being overwhelmed.

My hope is that by exploring these diverse structures, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of how form can shape content and enhance the impact of your poems. Let’s get right into it.
